The current Secretary of Defense, Robert Gates, had a very long career in government. He served as Director of the CIA, and had a tricky confirmation hearing in 1991, because of serious allegations of involvement in the Iran-Contra affair. Is it a wise choice for President-elect Obama to keep him as Secretary of Defense?
