Climate Change:The Illusion of "Clean Coal".
The world is investing too much cash & hope in carbon capture & storage.Let's face it,coal is the dirtiest of fossil fuels,producing twice the CO2 that natural gas does when it is burned.Talking about "clean coal " is basically an oxymoron.....

Al-Qaeda: Winning or Losing?
Al-Qaeda has made its reach truly global.7 years into the US " war on terror ", the result remains inconclusive. The safe haven lost in Afghanistan has been replaced by one in Pakistan and Al-Qaeda can recruit suicide bombers from Indonesia to the Maghreb. In 2003 Rumsfeld asked: " Are we winning or losing the war on terror"? Still no clear answer.

Can the EU have a bigger role in a " New World Order"?
With tensions rising again between the US and Russia over they respective influences, are we heading back to a cold war bi-polar world? Europe has been trying to play an important diplomatic role to diffuse the crisis between Russia and Georgia. Is this an indication that the multi-polar world aspiration or former President Chirac is possible?
